Looking for a carnivore diet food list? You're in luck!
Did you know there are different types of carnivore diets? I’ll provide you with information about all of them. And, what are they? They are:
You will note that none of these carnivore protocols contain sugar, junk food, or processed food. Those are strictly off limits!
This version of the carnivore diet is the most restrictive because the focus is solely on meat and fat from ruminant animals. This includes fatty meat from beef, elk, deer, moose, goats, and sheep.
Salt is also permitted. That’s it. You do not add spices nor seasonings. Your only beverage is water... flat or carbonated. No tea, no coffee. Yes, it’s very restrictive.

foods.
The next version of the carnivore diet, known as the Strict Carnivore, includes just meat but from a wider variety of animals. With this version you eat beef, pork, chicken, turkey, lamb, fish, seafood, organ meats (liver, kidney, heart), eggs, and fats such as lard, tallow, and butter. Want to know more?

The next carnivore diet on our list is the Classic Carnivore. This diet is a little more flexible and still revolves around assorted meats, but there is also room for a few dairy products. This makes the diet a little easier to follow and allows more variety and creativity in the kitchen.
You can enjoy all hard cheeses, soft cheeses, semi-soft cheeses, sour cream, heavy cream and yogurt. You can also have tea and coffee.
This less severe version is more manageable than the first two while also providing great results for most people. This is not a license to eat cheese to excess, however. Remember... a little goes a long way.

Finally, here is the final and most flexible carnivore diet... Keto Carnivore also known as the Ketovore Diet. This one is much more liberal in its choices.
As the name implies, it’s a mash-up of both the keto and carnivore diets. Of course, the foundation is still all meat and fat, with the addition of dairy. But this version also allows for a few berries, apples, avocados and olives. You can use spices and herbs in moderation as well.
Obviously, this adds a lot more variety but also has more carbs. This approach may provide a smoother transition to help some individuals get started with a carnivore diet before adapting stricter versions if they choose to do so later.
And, of course, there is a carnivore diet food list for the Keto Carnivore Diet.

No matter which of these protocols you decide to follow, you will reap the benefits that come from eating minimal amounts of carbohydrates. The focus is on high fat, moderate protein and zero or nearly zero carbs. This will keep your blood glucose from spiking and will keep your insulin levels low. And that means you'll be getting into some serious fat burning.
I have learned that sometimes a regular low carb or keto diet can stop working before you reach your weight loss goals. In those cases a carnivore diet could very well get you restarted and over the finish line.
Besides contributing to weight loss, this restrictive way of eating helps you build muscle. And it is often a great tool to use for people who have food addictions as well. Here’s why.
It turns out that with the elimination of carbs, the desire for junk food and sweets fades away. That’s because the triggers to stimulate urges and cravings have been reduced. There is no more inner chatter about eating carbs. That brings peace between your ears and that is so important because it allows you to develop a better relationship with food.
Eating a carnivore diet takes the guesswork out of what you’ll be eating from meal to meal. Some folks find fewer choices easier to manage and maintain.
Many carnivores find they end up eating similar foods every day and yet they don’t get bored. There is peace around food when the choices are limited, the food is enjoyable, and there are no “grey areas” to stray into.
Although it is often touted as a high protein diet, it is not. The carnivore way of eating is high in fats and moderate in protein. This makes it a ketogenic diet. With a carnivore diet you must get 60% to 80% of your calories from fat.
Can you do this without help? Of course you can, especially with a little guidance to get you started. And I’m here to help if you decide to give it a go and you need a little extra support!

It can be difficult to make the mental switch from the standard American diet to one that is completely meat-based. That’s because we have been taught and conditioned for many years to avoid meat and fat. In fact we have been told that meat and fat are unhealthy. However, there is no science to support that. In fact, scientific evidence shows quite the opposite to be true. But in the end, the final decision to make the change is yours. So, do lots of research before you make your decision.
The human body thrives on meat and fat and the essential nutrients they provide. If you’re overweight or obese, or dealing with Type 2 diabetes or having other metabolic issues, chances are extremely high that your diet is not based on meat. What about the Food Pyramid from the 1990’s or the more recent “My Plate”? Do those recommendations guide your eating patterns? If so, it’s obvious it wasn’t meat that made you what you are.
Seems to me if you’ve read this far, you’re curious about what a carnivore diet can do for you. I suggest that the best way to find out is to try it for a few months.
But, beware! If you’re using any medications, you should discuss this with your doctor.
The lack of carbohydrates will affect your blood glucose and your insulin levels. This will probably lead to lower blood pressure, less inflammation (arthritis) and better blood glucose management.
These changes will affect your medication dosages. So be smart. Before you start ANY diet, you should find out how it will affect your medicines. A visit with your doctor is important and highly recommended.
When I started the carnivore diet, I started with the Ketovore version and eventually made my way to the Strict version. I’m seeing weight loss results and enjoying other benefits as well. So, for me, this has been a great dietary decision. My plan is to move on to the Lion Diet and try it out for 3 months. I’ll have more firsthand experience as a result of doing that. I will discuss my results in my newsletter, the No Sugar Weekly.
